Quality Tutoring Services

Welcome to D & M tutoring

Hello! Our teacher, Pat Cheney, has been an educator for 30 years. Her career took her to several states and in each one she learned so much about connecting with students.

Her Story

Ms. Cheney’s career took her to North Carolina, Texas, and Florida. She began her teaching career in North Carolina where she taught 7th grade Language Arts and 7th and 8th grade Science.

In 1990, she moved to Texas and taught 5th, 6th, and 7th grade Language Arts through 2007. In 2007, she moved to Miami, Fl., and took the position of Associate Director of Academic Affairs at the prestigious University School, a college prep school. In this position, she was responsible for managing the academic program for 750 high school students. During her tenure at University School, 100% of the students were accepted to colleges and many received scholarships.

In 2011, she moved back to Texas and secured a position with Alvin ISD as an Advanced Academic Specialist.

She retired in 2017 and started her own tutoring business.

“Sahana loved going to her class”

Mrs. Cheney was Sahana’s teacher from 2015 to 2017. Sahana found her to be detailed and considerate. Mrs. Cheney went out of her way to make sure she understood the needs of her students and tailored her teaching to suit their needs. Sahana loved going to her class and looked forward to it every week. She still misses her. Thank You Mrs. Cheney for all your hard work! We appreciate you.
